The story behind this pieceThe Demon Core: History's Most Dangerous Sphere, Made Safe for Your DeskIn 1945 and 1946 a grapefruit-sized sphere of plutonium claimed two scientists at Los Alamos. Ours is plastic, it comes apart, and it's the best conversation starter on any desk.

A 6 inch replica of the Los Alamos "demon core" from 1945-46, 3D printed in chrome-look silver silk PLA. The inner sphere nests snugly inside the outer reflector shell and lifts out, so it doubles as a fidget toy. Comes with a small stand to display it on a bookshelf or desk. Perfect gift for a history buff, engineer, science teacher or college professor.

We offer both sizes in this listing, 3.5 inch or 6 inch.
